I’m getting the travel itch. It’s been less than two weeks since I went to Kyoto and just over month since I came back to Japan from deployment. Yet, that desire to see new places has hit me. I call these my “Bluesdays.”
Bluesdays are when I plug in my external hard drive and look at photographs from past trips, trying to relive a smell, hear the sounds, see the people that walked by and remember what it felt like to discover a new place. These days don’t get me down, rather they cheer me up, reminding me of how lucky I am to see places I dreamed of going to.
Tonight, I was having an @twitter conversation with Lauren who writes a round the world (RTW) blog at Never-Ending Footsteps. Lauren told me that she is going to Hong Kong as her RTW trip continues. After offering her some trip advice, I looked at my photos of two prior trips to HK.
Here is my travel Bluesday photo memory of Hong Kong.

This is one of the last junks that sail Victoria Harbour. Junks use to jam the harbour decades ago, now they've given way to high speed ferries and tourist boats.
