Travel Bluesday Photo Memory

by in Photo Journal

I’m getting the travel itch. It’s been less than two weeks since I went to Kyoto and just over month since I came back to Japan from deployment. Yet, that desire to see new places has hit me. I call these my “Bluesdays.”

Bluesdays are when I plug in my external hard drive and look at photographs from past trips, trying to relive a smell, hear the sounds, see the people that walked by and remember what it felt like to discover a new place. These days don’t get me down, rather they cheer me up, reminding me of how lucky I am to see places I dreamed of going to.

Tonight, I was having an @twitter conversation with Lauren who writes a round the world (RTW) blog at Never-Ending Footsteps. Lauren told me that she is going to Hong Kong as her RTW trip continues. After offering her some trip advice, I looked at my photos of two prior trips to HK.

Here is my travel Bluesday photo memory of Hong Kong.

This is one of the last junks that sail Victoria Harbour. Junks use to jam the harbour decades ago, now they've given way to high speed ferries and tourist boats.

Nice blog, Your photos are superb ! This is gonna seem like a weird sortof post but I thought I’d point out that there seems to be a bit of aproblem with your template. I’m viewing this with IE9 and theres sections of what looks like php markup appearing in the scrolling photos in the header. Just thought I’d point it out incase it doesn’t happen in your browser, I hope thst this helps.

Thank you for the comment and compliments Richard. Actually, I appreciate you telling me about the php markup. I see it also. It happened when I loaded this Disqus plugin. Do you know what I could do to remove it?

Hi again. Sorry I can’t help you with the fix coz I’m not familliar with wordpress. If I where you the first thing I would do is check to see if the plugin author has issued a new update. They normally catch thi sort of bug pretty quick and then fix them.
